Gifts of publicly traded securities have an immediate income tax deduction. You may potentially avoid capital gains tax on donated shares of stock and have an immediate impact on seeing your gift in action. By transferring securities directly to us, you may be eligible for a charitable income tax deduction based on the fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift. If you are 70.5 years of age or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA directly to us.
