GIT Sharing Our Success (SOS)

Organization/Program Support

The Foundation funds the Girls in Technology (GIT) program Sharing our Success (SOS) that invites middle- and high-school girls across the D.C. metropolitan area to participate in an evening program of networking and STEM activities. The program provides opportunities for girls to meet women in STEM professions, learn about their personal career experiences and participate in panel discussions.  The program also includes interactive demonstrations from exhibitors designed to inspire girls to explore the latest technologies and STEM-related careers, and a networking exercise to promote interpersonal communication skills.

The Foundation has supported GIT’s SOS programs for several years, helping to expand opportunities for girls in Washington, DC, Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun counties.
